Cloud & Delivery

Cloud decisions are usually presented as a platform choice. In practice they are a staffing, cost and reversibility choice, and the right answer is normally dictated by what the client's own team already operates. This section covers how we make those decisions and what we hand over.

01

Choose the target from the constraint, not the logo

We start from what the workload has to do and who will operate it. A Microsoft-centric estate usually belongs on Azure, a data-heavy pipeline usually belongs on BigQuery, and an organisation that must keep data on-premises gets a design for that. Portability has a real cost, and paying it without a stated reason is waste.

02

What a deployment actually costs

The invoice is compute, storage and egress. The larger cost is operational: managed services trade control for headcount, and a single-region deployment is materially cheaper than a resilient one. We put those trade-offs in the design so you choose them deliberately rather than discovering them.

03

Pipelines the client can own

CI/CD, infrastructure as code and monitoring are part of delivery and are documented as such — not private tooling we operate on your behalf. At handover your team can deploy a change, read a dashboard and respond to an alert without us in the loop.

04

Backups, failure and recovery

Recovery targets are agreed per system, restores are tested rather than assumed, and we write down what happens when a region or a third-party dependency fails. An untested backup is a belief, not a control.
